Inside Sales & Order Fulfillment Specialist

Fedco Floor Services is seeking an organized, analytical, and customer-focused professional to support our institutional customers, primarily multifamily properties, and outside sales team from initial inquiry through estimating, order processing, and fulfillment.

This role combines customer service with technical estimating and project coordination. You will turn customer drawings and measurements into accurate estimates, manage orders through completion, and develop tools that make repeat ordering faster and easier.

Primary Responsibilities

Inside Sales & Customer Support

• Assist customers with product selection, pricing, availability, and project requirements.
• Prepare quotes, follow up on estimates, and convert opportunities into orders.
• Build relationships with repeat customers and identify additional products or services needed for their projects.

Estimating & Takeoffs

• Interpret basic floor plans, sketches, and measurements.
• Calculate square footage, material quantities, waste factors, accessories, and labor requirements when applicable.
• Obtain missing information and verify estimates for accuracy and completeness.

Order Processing & Coordination

• Convert approved estimates into sales orders, verifying pricing, quantities, customer information, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with sales, purchasing, vendors, warehouse personnel, and installers to meet project deadlines.
• Track orders through delivery or pickup, communicate status updates, and resolve shortages, backorders, and discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records while managing multiple orders and priorities.

Reorder Templates & Process Improvement

• Build customer-specific reorder templates for recurring units, floor plans, products, and project types.
• Improve estimating and ordering workflows using spreadsheets, software, and automation.
• Reduce duplicate data entry, manual work, and processing errors.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret basic drawings and calculate material quantities.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and customer communication.
• Strong computer and spreadsheet skills, with the ability to learn new systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and proactively resolve issues.

Experience in flooring, construction, estimating, inside sales, order fulfillment, project coordination, or building materials is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in interior design, engineering, math or science education, operations, or process improvement are also encouraged to apply.

Previous industry experience is helpful but not required for candidates with strong numerical skills and the ability to learn quickly.
