Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quality Assurance Technician role based in Reading, PA. The Quality Assurance Technician will perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include monitoring production lines, performing sampling and testing, documenting results, and reporting nonconformities or deviations. The role will support the maintenance and calibration of testing equipment, assist in root cause analysis, and help implement corrective and preventive actions. The technician will collaborate closely with production, sanitation, and management teams to uphold food safety, support audits, and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices, including routine inspections, sampling, and testing of food products.
- Analytical skills to interpret test results, identify trends, and support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
- Experience or familiarity with Quality Management systems, documentation, and compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMPs, SQF or similar).
- Ability to perform and document Calibration activities for laboratory and production measuring devices to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to follow written procedures and standard operating instructions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional production and quality teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing, laboratory, or quality-related environment is beneficial.
