Overview:

As an Assistant Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of janitorial services at designated sites. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will assist in coordinating and supervising the janitorial staff, ensuring that cleaning standards are met, and client expectations are exceeded. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Site Manager: Work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the smooth operation of janitorial services at the designated site(s).

  • Staff Supervision: Supervise janitorial staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Monitor employee performance and conduct regular evaluations.

  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at the site(s). Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with cleaning protocols and client specifications.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment. Coordinate orders and replenishments as necessary.

  • Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for clients regarding janitorial services. Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.

  • Scheduling: Assist in developing and maintaining cleaning schedules for staff, ensuring adequate coverage at all times. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate client needs or special projects.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all janitorial staff adhere to safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.

  • Problem Resolution: Handle any issues or complaints related to janitorial services promptly and effectively. Collaborate with the Site Manager and other team members to find solutions and prevent recurrence.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, employee attendance, and any incidents that occur at the site(s). Prepare reports as required by management.

  • Team Collaboration: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among janitorial staff. Encourage teamwork, communication, and mutual respect.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the janitorial or facilities management industry preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality service.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., email, Microsoft Office).

  • Understanding of safety regulations and procedures.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in facilities management or a related field is a plus.

  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Work in various environmental conditions, including indoors and outdoors.
