Job Overview

In this exciting role at our Washington, D.C.-based, trade association we are looking for a driven, creative and digitally forward-thinking person to join our communications team.  As part of Farm Credit’s reputation management strategy, this position helps build and maintain our reputation in Washington, D.C. and across the country. This role is central to executing strategy and advancing our national brand by implementing our social media campaigns, developing written comments for our website, creating editorial calendars for our membership and monitoring the media to find opportunities to engage. Successful candidates will bring a fresh perspective, strong initiative and a detail-oriented approach to work every day.

In addition to an annual bonus opportunity and competitive benefits, the salary range for this position is $61,000-92,000 annually. Additionally, FCC allows employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creates and posts content daily across all @FarmCredit social media channels.
  • Monitors social media for Farm Credit activities using digital monitoring tools.
  • Analyzes Farm Credit’s social media performance, prepares reports for senior management and contributes strategic recommendations to strengthen Farm Credit’s online presence.
  • Assists in developing monthly editorial calendars for Farm Credit institutions, aligned with the One Mission. Many Voices. messaging campaign.
  • Monitors traditional media for opportunities to engage and identifies potential reputation threats.
  • Compiles and distributes the Farm Credit Daily News to member institutions.
  • Drafts compelling customer story features and blog posts for, www.FarmCredit.com.
  • Supports search engine optimization (SEO) efforts to improve website visibility and user experience (UX).
  • Assists in developing social media toolkits for Farm Credit sponsored events and partnerships.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications or Journalism.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in digital marketing and communications.
  • Strong understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and other platforms, including best practices for optimization and analytics required.
  • Demonstrated experience representing the voice of a brand, organization or company on digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with current trends and best practices for social media. Experience with Meltwater’s social and traditional media tools preferred.
  • Experience with website management (WordPress) preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or creating graphics preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Congress, the executive branch and the U.S. political process preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail & a high degree of accuracy.
  • Interest in or experience with the agricultural industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Maintains confidentiality as required and supports the core values and mission of the organization.
  • Position may require minimal travel.
