Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Superintendent to lead construction projects from start to finish. Applicant must have experience with underground water and sewer utilities, municipal pipeline installation, trench excavation, earthwork, storm drain, road base, concrete and asphalt.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring work progresses according to project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or other construction management software; monitor progress regularly.
- Oversee safety compliance by enforcing OSHA standards and conducting routine safety meetings and inspections.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.
- Manage project budgets and costs through effective budgeting practices and construction estimating techniques.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify work meets all specifications and standards; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Read and interpret technical documents such as schematics and contracts; utilize tools like Ohmmeter for electrical testing when necessary.
- Supervise onsite personnel, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and ensuring team productivity.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including daily reports, incident logs, and progress updates.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising large-scale projects; previous heavy civil or pipeline experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or HeavyBid.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices for construction site safety.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Familiarity with contracts management and project scheduling methodologies.
- Hands-on construction site experience demonstrating a thorough understanding of field operations.
