Eligibility for a relocation incentive requires proof of a change in residence and an assignment at a worksite in a different geographic area greater than or equal to 50 miles from the prior worksite. Employees must sign a written service agreement completing a specified period of employment with the FBI at the new duty station. Recruitment and relocation incentives cannot be combined.
Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.
UNIT DESCRIPTION
The Logistics Unit (LU) provides effective and efficient mail, shipping, property transportation, courier, warehousing, supply, furniture recycling and other related logistical services and products in support of FBI operations worldwide.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Some travel may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required.
MAJOR DUTIES
  • Administers and maintains both test and production server environment, ensuring the system remains operational, secure, and up to date with all required application and security patches.
  • Monitors system performance and troubleshoots operational issues, using tools such as PowerShell to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
  • Develops, maintains, and supports business solutions using Power BI and Power Apps to enhance data visibility and operational efficiency.
  • Provides technical support for Windows operating systems, Office 365 applications, and SQL databases, including troubleshooting and resolving user and system issues.
  • Supports ULMS device configuration and ensures alignment with the bureau's Zero Trust (no trust) environment requirements.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve technical and operational issues and implement system improvements.
  • Assists with additional tasks and projects assigned to support unit operations.

Specialized Experience (SE)
GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Experience maintaining a server environment, including performing application and security patch updates, managing scheduled tasks, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing and supporting data visualization dashboards and automated workflows using Power BI and Power Apps to enhance business processes and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Windows operating systems and SQL databases.
  • Experience working within environments that utilize ULMS device configuration and Zero Trust architecture principles.
  • Experience working independently to coordinate and communicate across divisions and with external contractors to resolve complex technical and operational issues.

  • Limited Movement: Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position may be precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau through reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months. HRD will waive this limited movement policy for qualified employees, who have received an official notification letter that their current position is being relocated due to an organizational restructuring initiative, so those employees can compete for a position elsewhere. Voluntarily leaving a position with a relocation incentive may result in loss of that incentive. Please notate that you have received an official notification letter within your application.
  • Probationary employees are precluded from being considered for all job opportunities until 12-months of their 24-month probationary period has concluded.   • Relocation expenses will be borne by the selectee, except FBI employees returning from LEGAT assignment. Employees returning from LEGAT assignments must advise the Staffing and Administrative Unit / International Operations Division of their application for this position.
  • Relocation expenses MAY be borne by the FBI. Candidates receiving a transfer of physical location, whether at the expense of the FBI or not, will be required to complete a one-year commitment to the assignment, prior to moving to a new position at the FBI. The 12-month waiting period begins the day an employee reports for duty at the new location.

  • Employees selected for promotions at the GS 12 level or higher, selected for a supervisory position at any grade level, or selected for positions where a transfer of location is required, will be processed through the name check program prior to being notified of their selection.
