UNIT DESCRIPTION
The mission of the Secure Technologies Exploitation Unit (STXU) is to provide a national law enforcement cryptanalytic capability and to develop, improve, and deploy technical methods to utilize digital evidence and electronic surveillance (ELSUR) gathered in FBI operations.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
The work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Some travel may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required.

- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
- Correct errors and bugs by making appropriate changes and rechecking programs to ensure desired results are produced
- Develop and write code for existing computer applications, software, or utilities following software assurance best practices and unit software development methodologies.
- Confer with systems engineers and development team to design application improvements to enhance performance, improve security, and provide the best interface for users
- Diagnose and resolve network, systems, and storage issues for the Unit's IT enterprise related to the applications supported by the unit.
