Summary:
The Mortgage Area Manager provides leadership for an assigned area and is responsible for the growth and successful growth of that area. The Mortgage Area Manager actively grows and maintains their own individual origination portfolio as well as establish loan production and develop a productive staff through training and coaching.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct leadership responsible for Mortgage Bankers within an assigned area.
- Grows and maintains an individual origination portfolio through self-generated leads by proactively soliciting and sourcing business through realtors, social media, networking and other avenues.
- Partner with regional and national leaders to drive exceptional customer experiences.
- Responsible for cultivating the FB Financial Mortgage culture that supports core values.
- Creating development plans to support employee career growth, retain top talent and reduce attrition.
- Responsible for recruiting and training efforts of qualified candidates.
- Drives daily performance and leads high performing teams.
- Interacts with department leaders to understand business needs and develop performance plans to grow market share.
- Identifies operational opportunities and implements performance plans to maximize production.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
- Cultivate an environment that supports diversity, teamwork, and performance. Provide leadership though communication, performance management, development and recognition of staff.
- Manage the team by hiring, coaching, training and providing direction to team members through feedback to support personal development and ongoing improvement.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Degree highly desired.
- 7 years of mortgage sales leadership.
- Experience in managing high performing mortgage teams.
- Experience with managing large mortgage pipelines across regionalized teams.
- Deep knowledge of mortgage products and extensive client service experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to register and maintain licensing with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (“NMLS”) as a mortgage loan originator.
- The ability to drive daily production performance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize and plan accordingly.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Respectful demeanor toward other associates and managers that promotes a positive and professional work environment.
- Ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior and confidentiality and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
