What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coil Feed Operator position at FAWN MANUFACTURING INC?
The Coil Feed Op/L & J position will:
Perform duties to setup and operate coil feed stamping press to produce parts in accordance with job specifications and established quality standards. Assigned jobs involve setting up and producing more complex and intricate parts. Also required to perform other tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obtain supplies, position work and follow verbal or written instructions
2. Set-up and operate coil feed stamping press
3. Locate dies and install as directed
4. Obtain first piece inspection approval
5. Read and interpret blueprints
6. Read scale and micrometer
7. Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
8. Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
9. Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
- Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to supervisor
- Perform other duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
- Desire to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic
- Follow all company rules and policies
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Adequate communication skills; verbal and written
2. Ability to read and understand written instructions
3. Ability to read scale, micrometer and blueprints
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically able to do bending, twisting, gripping, grasping and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Physically able to stand for up to 8 hours
- Requires good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to set-up and operate stamping press and coil feeder
- Physically able to move dies when performing set-up duties
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience/combined education
