Fauquier County Commissioner of The Revenue office is looking for an Assessor to join our team!
Primary duties include, but not limited to:
Reviews, categorizes, organizes, sketches and enters data related to building permits for new construction, additions and alterations.- Evaluates and transfers relevant data from architectural drawings and plans.
- Conducts field inspections; takes measurements of buildings and collects data relative to number of rooms, type of construction, age, and other conditions affecting values.
- Analyzes comparable sales, construction costs, and market trends to determine property values.
- Develops and writes detailed reports and spreadsheets, summaries, correspondence, and position papers and makes presentations as required.
- Provides assessment related information to the general public to explain assessment valuation techniques, departmental and local office policies and legal mandates regarding property valuation.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
