What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Respite (CLTS Program)- Part-Time Direct Support Professional position at Fathers Heart Home Care?
We’re looking for a compassionate, energetic CLTS Caregiver who genuinely enjoys working with children and teens with intellectual and physical disabilities. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, upbeat, and able to meet kids where they are—while helping them grow, learn, and feel supported.
What You’ll Do
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support to children enrolled in the CLTS program
- Assist with daily living skills, emotional regulation, and social development
- Engage children through play, creative activities, routines, and positive reinforcement
- Support physical needs as outlined in individual care plans
- Communicate effectively with families and care teams
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children (childcare, education, behavioral support, respite care, etc.)
- Experience with intellectual and/or physical disabilities strongly preferred
- Positive, patient, and reliable personality
- Ability to adapt to different communication styles and needs
- Comfortable following care plans and documenting progress
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Drivers License/Insurance
