Position Overview
Full-time science teacher position, beginning with the 2026 academic year. The teacher will deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in:
6th-8th Grade Science
Science Enrichment STEM Classes
Key Responsibilities:
Teach science curricula aligned to school, state, and Diocese of Providence standards.
Teach life, earth, and physical science units with a strong emphasis on experimentation, inquiry, and real-world applications.
Develop labs, hands-on projects, and STEM enrichment activities
Differentiate instruction to support varied learning levels and provide targeted interventions
Ensure that lessons in science reflect and uphold our Catholic values
Promote the integration of faith through curricular content
Teacher Expectations:
Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment
Use formative/summative assessments and data to guide differentiated instruction
Manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior effectively in alignment with school and Catholic tradition
Work closely with faculty and staff to coordinate and align interdisciplinary programs
Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning sessions, professional development, and retreats, school masses
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, behavior, and classroom happenings
Assist in organizing and chaperoning school-wide initiatives (science fairs, field days, Catholic Schools Week)
Maintain a visible leadership role in the school community through assemblies, liturgies, or service events
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Science, Science Education, or related field in science
Classroom experience with middle and elementary school students
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to integrating Catholic values with teaching practices and embracing the school’s mission
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the church or supportive of faith-based education and able to teach, embrace, and live Catholic Social Teachings.
Employment & Compensation
Status: Full-time faculty, approx. 37–40 hours/week, exclusive of supplementary duties
Schedule: Traditional 10-month school-year calendar
Compensation: Competitive salary based on education and experience; benefits include health insurance, retirement contributions, and professional development support
