Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote infant and toddler development, including sensory play, motor skills, and social interaction.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times, adhering to best practices in child supervision and classroom management.
- Support infants with feeding, diapering, nap times, and other daily routines in a caring and respectful manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning while following health and safety protocols such as pediatric first aid and mandated reporting laws.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns to foster strong relationships and trust.
- Assist with classroom setup, material preparation, and maintaining documentation related to child development instruction.
- Follow all licensing requirements related to early childhood education, childcare standards, and emergency procedures to ensure compliance at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience working with infants or toddlers in daycare centers, preschools, or similar childcare settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices for infant care is essential.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and early childhood education methodologies.
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
- Previous nannying or babysitting experience with infants can be valuable assets for this role.
