About The Role

Are you an innovative, independent designer who knows how to leverage the latest AI technology to push creative boundaries? We are looking for a highly skilled Graphic Designer to join our FASTSIGNS Northeast San Antonio team.

In this role, you will be our in-house design powerhouse—serving as part of the graphic design team. Because you will be owning the design process from concept to production, a strong background in the signage industry is highly preferred. More importantly, we are looking for a forward-thinking creative who considers AI tools an essential part of their modern design workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design: Serve on the graphic design team, managing all design requests from initial client concepts to final, print-ready production files.
• AI-Powered Ideation & Execution: Actively utilize AI image generation and design tools (e.g. Adobe Firefly, Gemini) to accelerate workflows, generate concepts, and enhance final artwork.
• Signage Production Pre-press: Prepare precise files for large-format printing and sign fabrication, ensuring correct bleeds, color profiles (CMYK/Pantone), and substrate compatibility.
• Project Management: Independently manage your design queue, communicate directly with clients to understand their vision, and coordinate with the production team to ensure feasibility.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs align with client branding guidelines while optimizing typography and layout for readability at scale (wayfinding, exterior signs, vehicle graphics, etc.).
  
  
  

Must-Have Qualifications

• AI-Forward Mindset: We view AI as a superpower, not a shortcut: Demonstrable experience using AI tools, such as Generative Fill, to assist in graphic design, image manipulation, and vector generation. You will be asked to discuss your AI workflow during the interview.
• Design Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Independent Capability: Proven ability to work autonomously as a solo designer, managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively without a creative director looking over your shoulder.
• Strong Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing both traditional design skills and AI-assisted projects, ideally including large-format or environmental graphics.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to comfortably safely lift up to 50 lbs (handling vinyl rolls, substrate panels, etc.) and stand for extended periods during production tasks.
  
  
  

Ideal Qualifications (Bonus Points)

• Sign Industry Experience: Hands-on experience with the physical sign manufacturing process, large format printing, and vinyl application.
• Experience with RIP software (e.g., Onyx, FlexiSign).
