OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-time Manufacturing Manager, you will manage the workload and production personnel by making decisions that take into account safety, quality, and the best interest of Fastenal and its customers at all times. Manufacturing managers work to facilitate communication between sales, production, management, and at times outside vendors. This person will need to have extensive knowledge of the business unit's processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Coordinating with vendors on secondary processes
o Inspecting finished product
o Requesting maintenance for equipment and facilities through maintenance connection
o Working directly with operations and production managers on daily, weekly, and monthly goals
o Performing accurate inspections of products in accordance with company policies
o Assisting with employee relations and human resources duties, such as interviewing, reviews, and disciplinary actions as required
o Providing mentorship and guidance to production employees
o Operating production equipment when necessary
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o 18 years of age or over, due to the nature of work
o 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
o Possess at least 2 years of manufacturing work experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Demonstrate strong computer skills, mechanical and math aptitude
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Possess at least 2 years or prior Fastenal manufacturing work experience
o Prior leadership or management work experience
o Previous experience using Fanuc controllers to create and edit G&M-Code programs on a variety of machines
o Prior experience in post-machining processes, such as heat treating, anodizing, plating, and destructive and non-destructive testing
o Knowledge of Mastercam/SolidWorks offline programming
o Knowledge of feeds and speeds of machine tooling on a broad range of materials
o Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances

FULL-TIME BENEFITS:

COMPENSATION:
The base pay range for this position is $64,500 - 66,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
