Job Title: Ambulance Driver
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Must be insurable under Fast Track EMS driver's insurance policy.
Must be able to successfully complete company driver training and emergency vehicle operations training.
Experience is not required. We welcome individuals interested in starting a career in Emergency Medical Services and provide training and support to help you succeed.
Ambulance Drivers will be enrolled in an EMT class within their first six (6) months of employment and are expected to obtain EMT-B certification as a condition of continued employment.
Primary Function: Under general supervision, safely operate ambulance vehicles while assisting medical personnel in the transport and care of patients. Maintain vehicles and equipment, support patient movement and transport operations, and ensure safe and professional interactions with patients, healthcare facilities, and the public.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate ambulance vehicles in accordance with company policy, state laws, and emergency vehicle operation procedures.
Assist EMTs and Paramedics with patient loading, unloading, lifting, moving, and transport activities.
Ensure ambulances are clean, fueled, stocked, and maintained in a state of readiness.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns.
Assist with stretcher operations and patient securing procedures.
Support patient care activities within the scope of training and company policy.
Maintain communication with dispatch personnel regarding unit status, location, and transport updates.
Assist with the cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking of ambulances and equipment.
Transport patients safely and professionally between healthcare facilities, residences, and other destinations.
Maintain accurate vehicle inspection records and operational documentation.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, family members, healthcare staff, and the public.
Assist in maintaining compliance with safety, infection control, and operational standards.
Participate in required training programs, including EMT education and continuing education activities.
Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
Comfort and reassure patients.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Drive emergency vehicles in stressful situations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Knowledge of safe vehicle operation principles and defensive driving practices.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare personnel, dispatchers, and coworkers.

Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ability to safely assist with patient lifting, moving, and transport activities.
Ability to learn emergency medical procedures and complete EMT training requirements.
Knowledge of emergency vehicle equipment maintenance regulations and policy standards.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Valid Driver's License
Must be insurable under company insurance requirements
Valid & current EVOC (can be completed upon employment)
Annual TB clearance
Valid & current CPR card (can be completed upon employment)
Ability to successfully enroll in and complete EMT-B certification training within the first six (6) months of employment
In good standing with State OEMS upon EMT certification
LIFTING: From floor to 48 inches - 75 lbs. minimum; 76 lbs. with assistance
$20 Starting rate, Night and weekend shift differential based on regular schedule of up to additional $6/hourly
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
