Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week, shift rotation, weekends as needed to meet the needs of the department

The Main Campus Medical Center features 11 operating rooms covering a wide range of surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Urology, Peripheral Vascular, Robotics, and Cardiovascular. The OR performs approximately 150 heart surgeries each year and is accredited by the DNV as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for excellence in surgical care. Summary

Responsible for circulating OR cases (excluding Open Heart), assisting with case preparation, and assessing surgical patients. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient needs using the nursing process. Actively participates in providing patient care as defined by the multidisciplinary plan of care. Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients with diverse cultural backgrounds and varying ages. The Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in South Carolina
• Applications from Graduate Nurses who meet SC LLR criteria will be accepted
• 1 year of experience preferred for entry-level staff nurse positions
• BSN preferred; ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months of hire and complete within 4 years
• BLS preferred; successful completion of hospital-provided BLS course within 90 days of hire required
• Ongoing commitment to professional growth through assignments, clinical development programs, and participation in professional organizations
