Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance mission-critical mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2, including stored procedures
- Maintain and support online (CICS) and batch processing systems
- Manage VSAM files, DB2 databases, and file processing utilities like SORT
- Ensure code quality, optimize performance, and adhere to industry standards
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 production support, troubleshooting issues such as batch failures, abends, and data inconsistencies
- Support Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) for job scheduling and monitoring
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions
- Collaborate with middleware teams, including support for IBM MQ and CICS transactions
- Use version control tools for code management and ensure proper documentation and compliance
- Participate in system upgrades, modernization initiatives, release planning, and code reviews
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
- Platform: IBM Mainframe (z/OS)
- Programming: COBOL
- Database: DB2, DB2 Stored Procedures

- Code Management: LCM or similar tools
- Nice to Have: Experience with mainframe modernization, Hogan banking systems, Agile methodologies, automation, scripting, and experience working in support environments with 24/7 availability
Qualifications & Experience
- 8 years of mainframe development and support experience
- Proven success in production support environments, including critical production windows
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Work Environment & Benefits
- Location: Cleveland, Ohio - REMOTE WORK
- Remote but must candidate must live in the eastern or central time zone. Must work on our W2. No sponsorship available.
