Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle or equipment concerns, and accurately document service requests.
- Prepare detailed repair orders using heavy duty estimating software, ensuring clarity and transparency for clients.
- Collaborate closely with technicians, parts, and owner to understand vehicle and equipment issues such as but not limited to engine and transmissions, brakes, suspension, alignments, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, and oil changes.
- Provide professional recommendations for upselling services like additional maintenance to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding vehicle diagnostics, repair progress, and estimated completion times.
- Manage invoicing processes accurately while maintaining detailed service records.
- Assist in promoting services through proactive client communication and sales efforts related to heavy duty sales and maintenance packages.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Service Writer or in diesel service management within a dealership or repair shop environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy duty systems including transmissions, suspension, brakes, tires, oil changes, mechanical repairs.
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Familiarity with heavy duty diagnostics and repair procedures across various vehicle makes and models.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is required.
