Position Overview:The Assistant Buyer supports the Buyer in achieving department and company financial goals.They are responsible for helping exceed department revenue and profit goals by working with internal and external partners to help create assortments, coordinate deliveries, and analyze weekly sales.They will partner with other internal departments such as planning, marketing, ops team, and field team to execute overall strategies.The assistant will also contribute to finding new items, categories, and ideas through market research and competitive shopping. Key Responsibilities:Support buyer in building out assortment plansCreate and input purchase orders into the systemTrack purchase orders and resolve delivery issuesReview weekly availability from each grower/vendorAssist buyer with grower/vendor meetingsOnboard new growers/vendorsWork with the marketing team and site team to set up new items on the siteCollaborate with planning on replenishment/re-ordersRecap and analyze business results weekly/monthly/seasonallyProvide ad hoc analysis (hindsight, SKU/category productivity, etc.) and summarize findingsConduct market research and recap results every weekSupport the buyer in identifying business opportunities and/or risks in the assortmentDaily walk-through of our website to verify the accurate presence of top itemsWalk through the farm with the field team lead to determine opportunities and risksMaintain expiration list each weekMaintain grower/vendor contact informationAnalyze monthly vendor report card About You:Highly organized, Self-motivated, and can work independentlyProficient in retail mathExperienced in Excel with the ability to perform complex functions, such as SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, and pivot tablesProficient in Google SuiteFlexibility and ability to follow through with tasksHighly organized with the ability to prioritize workloadExecute tasks with a high level of accuracyGood interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to identify issues, recommend and implement strategies to resolve problems Position Requirements:Bachelor's degree1-2 years’ experience in a retail environmentPrevious assistant buyer experience a plus
Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
