Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Residential Glass Installer with a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in the glazing industry. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in residential glass applications, with specific expertise in cutting glass, fitting custom shower enclosures, and installing both vinyl windows and insulated glass units (IGUs). You will be working directly on residential job sites, requiring a high level of precision, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Glass Fabrication & Handling: Score, and cut raw glass to custom specifications in the shop.
- Shower Door Installation: Install framed, semi-frameless, and heavy glass shower doors and enclosures.
- Window Installation: Remove old windows and install new vinyl windows (both retrofit and new construction applications) ensuring proper sealing and insulation.
- IGU Replacement: Accurately measure, remove, and replace failed or broken insulated glass units in existing window frames.
- Site Management: Maintain a clean, safe work environment on all residential job sites and ensure all installations meet industry safety standards.
- Customer Service: Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners, answering questions and ensuring satisfaction with the final installation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience specifically in residential glass and window installation.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to cut flat glass, install shower doors, and replace vinyl windows and IGUs.
- Tools: Proficient with standard glazing hand tools, power tools, suction cups, and measuring devices.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy glass units (50 lbs) safely and comfortably work on ladders or scaffolding.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license.
