Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and other culinary tools
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Assist with menu planning and food production to meet high-volume demands while adhering to recipe guidelines
- Execute food handling procedures properly, including proper knife skills for ingredient preparation and portion control
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals or dietary-specific dishes as required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and exceptional food presentation in both restaurant and catering settings
Qualifications
- Previous dietary aide experience or food service experience in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Proven experience in food preparation techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and other cooking methods
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume production settings
- Excellent knife skills with attention to detail for ingredient prep and portioning
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining flexibility during busy service hours
- Experience with menu planning, food handling, and meal preparation in a culinary or food industry setting is preferred
