The Dance Company Co-Director will report to the Athletic Director, and will work in concert with another Dance Company Co-Director, both of whom will be equally responsible for managing all facets of the Dance Company in accordance with FIT Institutional and FIT Athletics rules and regulations.

Stipend: $13,500 - $14,204 per year (based on experience, qualifications and budgetary allowance)
Work Schedule
Days/Hours: Mondays 6:30pm-9pm and Sundays 1pm- 5pm, in person; occasional overnight trips and weekends.
Terms: FIT coaching positions consist of at-will appointments that last for one fiscal year, and do not carry any medical, annual leave, sick leave, or other fringe benefit entitlement.

The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, office space and/or outdoors. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, frequent bending, constant walking, and frequently lifting up to 10-20 lbs.

Responsibilities
- Assuming full responsibility for student-athlete welfare and company operations during all team- related proceedings.
- Upholding all applicable FIT, and FIT Athletics rules and regulations.
- Recommending appointment/retention of Team Manager; providing supervision for this staff member.
- Recruiting quality dance company participants based on academic goals as well as athletic ability.
- Attending all rehearsals and shows; providing company and individual skill development.
- Scheduling, planning and organizing rehearsals.
- Scheduling one large scale campus performance each semester.
- Promoting the company and athletic department by participating in various campus events.
- Planning and coordinating team travel arrangements.
- Managing team budget and keeping strict records of all expenditures and receipts.
- Providing a synopsis of performances for promotion on website and social media.
- Working with Department Assistant to order all necessary equipment / costumes / props, and to
- reserve theater space as needed.
- Overseeing team academic success and personal growth in team members.
- Attending required coaches meetings and completing trainings as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency, and completion of four years of post-secondary technical dance instruction.
- Experience teaching technical dance skills and fundamentals.
- Ability to lead warmups / stretches.
- Outstanding managerial, organizational, technological and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain CPR / AED certification prior to the time of appointment.
- Availability for weekday evening / weekend rehearsals.
- Availability for occasional overnight trips.
- Four years of dance coaching experience in an academic setting.
- Dance Company creative direction, management and production experience.
- History of success in the areas of recruiting, player development and fostering holistic success in team members preferred.
