The Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology seeks a dedicated professional with demonstrated expertise in advanced knitting and textile technology. The successful candidate will possess expertise in applied knitting applications, including warp and weft knitting, with proficiency in the use and maintenance, and programming of knitting equipment and machinery.
The full-time faculty position will support the Textile Development and Marketing department, with responsibilities for teaching both core and advanced knitting courses in textile science and technology, including the advancement of bio-materials. Emphasis will be placed on practical instruction with a forward focus on innovation and development of functional knit fabrics for applications in fashion, athletic, medical, military, and industrial sectors.
A strong awareness of emerging trends in sustainable textile practices is essential. Additional desirable qualifications include knowledge of the textile supply chain, product and project management, and global marketing strategies.
The new faculty member will play a key role in supporting the school and department's strategic initiatives, developing curriculum, and maintaining operations within the department's textile lab facilities. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, promoting the academic programs, engaging with alumni, industry, and building and sustaining partnerships. The new faculty member will serve on department, school, and college-wide committees, support accreditation, and participate in administrative duties as required.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in textile technology, textile biomaterials, textile science, textile engineering or related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who have a knitting portfolio.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant industry experience in the knitting field is preferred. Will need to obtain a master's degree within 4 years of appointment.
- Postgraduate degree in textile technology, textile biomaterials, textile science, textile engineering or related fields.
