Play Center Staff / Guest Experience Specialist

Job Overview

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Guest Engagement & Sales: Greet and interact with members and guests in a friendly, professional manner while serving as a sales ambassador to promote programs, products, and retail offerings.
• Childcare & Safety: Monitor children in play areas to ensure a safe, healthy environment and engage in interactive activities as needed.
• Operations & Service: Administer reservations, make product suggestions, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and adhere to Employee Handbook standards.
• Facility Maintenance: Perform ongoing cleaning tasks throughout shifts (wiping surfaces, vacuuming, tidying toys) and end-of-shift housekeeping (cleaning restrooms and floors).

Qualifications & Experience

• Required Experience: 1 years in customer service/sales and 1 years working with children.
• Preferred Experience: Background in childcare, hospitality, or education.
• Background Check: Validated state background check (e.g., State of Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs or equivalent).

Hours & Shift Availability (Updated Schedule)

• Facility Schedule (September – May):
• Mondays: Closed (Deep Cleaning)
• Tuesdays – Fridays: 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Open Play)
• Saturdays: 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Open Play) | 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Private Parties)
• Sundays: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Open Play) | 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Private Parties)
• Summer Schedule (June – August): Closed for Open Play (Open for Camp Fascinate & Private Events).
• Shift Expectations: Morning and afternoon shift blocks aligned with open play sessions and weekend event hours.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Frequent bending, stooping, carrying, and repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers.
