ABOUT THE POSITION
The Fitness Manager oversees all aspects of daily gym operations, ensuring exceptional member experience, a positive work environment, and the financial success of the club.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Manage the daily operations of the fitness center
- Recruit, hire, train and develop a high-performing staff
- Schedule and supervise staff, ensuring excellent customer service in line with Union Fitness policies and guidelines
- Address employee and member concerns and assist with conflict resolution
- Conduct gym tours for prospective members
- Handle member requests, issues and questions promptly and professionally
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies within the club’s budget
- Track key metrics and report weekly, monthly and annually
- Lead staff meetings in collaboration with the Business & Development Manager to discuss employee development, class schedules, programming, membership growth strategies, and event planning
- Attend management meetings to review financial performance, budget needs, marketing strategies and event planning
- Plan, coordinate, and attend events outside of normal Union Fitness business hours
- Analyze trends to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to coordinate advertising across social media platforms and other agencies
- Confirm and manage trainer schedules and client bookings
- Provide training, mentorship and ongoing support to staff, including coaches and employees
- Compile trainer payroll on a bi-weekly basis
- Provide personal training services to 4-5 clients weekly
- Teach 3-4 classes per week
- Identify, improve, and implement processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, member satisfaction, and staff performance.
