Position Overview
The Culinary Administrator provides dedicated administrative and operational support to the culinary team. This position supports menu planning, documentation, inventory tracking, member communications, and internal coordination to ensure the culinary team operates efficiently and strategically. This role is ideal for someone who understands kitchen operations, has a genuine passion for food, and may have prior culinary experience but is seeking a primarily office-based position within our culinary department.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef with menu planning, timelines, and seasonal initiatives
- Maintain standardized recipes, costing worksheets, and culinary documentation
- Assist with inventory reporting and product tracking
- Assist in recruiting/onboarding new team members and managing scheduling/payroll logistics
- Maintain organized purchasing and culinary data files
- Prepare internal planning documents, reports, and production materials
- Support back-of-house coordination for banquets and special events
- Maintain version control of culinary menus and internal files
- Assist in managing logistics and communications for specialized culinary programs, i.e. culinary apprenticeship, supper club, etc.
- Assist with food photography and culinary content coordination (preferred skill)
Qualifications
- 2 years of culinary, hospitality, or related operational experience preferred
- Prior kitchen experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Welcomes new technology and software initiatives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with recipe costing spreadsheets preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
