What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSISTANT CHIEF STEWARD position at Farmington Country Club?
Work with, and assist in the supervision of all General Kitchen workers. Also responsible for overseeing the daily operation of dish machines and pot and pan ware washing stations; managing inventory, storage and transportation of all kitchen equipment; setup, breakdown, and proper storage of all buffet service ware.
Responsibilities:
- Training all utility staff in proper cleaning procedures, chemical storage, and equipment usage and maintenance
- Monitor time and attendance policies
- Ensure quality cleaning of all kitchens, maintaining Club standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
- Ensure that the kitchens are safe, sanitary, and clean at all times
- Ensure the proper completion of checklists
- Assist with the organization and storage of food and beverage equipment (china, glassware, silverware, serving utensils, and carts)
- Manage food and beverage supply and equipment inventories according to budget and operating needs
- Oversee “deep cleaning” activities and schedules for the kitchens
- Develop and implement safety, sanitation, and cleaning training programs and materials, in accordance with federal and state regulations, and Club standards
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Similar, supervisory experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, or club environment is a plus
- Ability to understand and follow safety and sanitation rules and procedures, instructions for equipment use, and MSDS (material safety data sheets)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and routinely lift up to 50 pounds and stack up to 4 ft. high
