- Must be 15 years or older
- Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and AED - or equivalent
- Demonstrate proficiency in lifesaving techniques
- Be in good health and be physically fit to perform all duties
- Possess good public relation skills
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies
- Know pool and building Emergency Action Plans
- Enforce all District and program policies, rules and regulations
- Inspect the facility each shift and report any unsafe conditions (including equipment) to their supervisor immediately
- Assist with the general care and cleaning of the facility
- Assist Water Safety Instructors with lessons as assigned
- Participate in staff training sessions as directed by Aquatics Coordinator
- Performs other related duties as assigned

JOB SUMMARY: Ensure the safety of facility patrons in the pool area by preventing and responding to emergencies. At times, work as a Water Safety Instructor Aide during lessons.
