What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medication Aide (CMA) - Day Shift position at Farmersville Health and Rehab?
Farmersville Health & Rehab is hiring a Certified Medication Aide for our day shift team. In this position, you will administer prescribed medications and complete routine treatments for residents following physician orders. You will also assist nurses and floor staff with resident care needs throughout the morning shift.
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits
- Pay Rate: Starting at $19/hr, scaling upward with experience
- Schedule: 8-Hour Day Shifts (6am-2pm)

Responsibilities
- Administer oral, topical, and routine medications in accordance with state regulations.
- Perform prescribed non-invasive treatments and document medication administration in electronic health records.
- Monitor residents for changes in condition or side effects and report observations to the charge nurse.
- Assist nursing assistants on the floor with direct care and resident mobility when medication passes are complete.
- Maintain clean medication carts and ensure supplies remain organized for the incoming shift.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Texas Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification
- Active Texas Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Must pass a standard criminal background check
- Must pass a drug screening
- Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
