Your Role:
The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and well-functioning facilities. This role supports daily operations by performing preventive maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and repair facility-related issues such as lighting, fixtures, doors, walls, flooring, and general infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
- Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and ensure optimal operation.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when necessary.
- Support facility upgrades, renovations, and improvement projects.
- High school diploma or GED (Technical certification preferred).
- 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or related field.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions.
- Trade certification (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.).
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- OSHA safety certification.
- Forklift or scissor lift certification.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, sit for long drive, squat, stoop, climb ladders, and carry materials and tools
- Indoor and outdoor work environments.
- May require working at heights or confined spaces.
- On-call availability for emergencies (if applicable).
- Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting.
