We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, and enhance a hybrid IT infrastructure spanning both cloud and on-premise environments. This role is responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance, and security while supporting enterprise operations and compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Microsoft cloud technologies, virtualization platforms, and system administration, along with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain systems across hybrid environments, including Microsoft Azure and VMware
- Manage Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including identity management, access controls, and conditional access policies
- Perform system configuration, patch management, and vulnerability remediation activities
- Implement and maintain STIG-compliant configurations and security baselines
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across servers, storage, and network infrastructure
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems, and network components
- Document system configurations, procedures, and operational processes
- Support the integration of new systems, applications, and technologies into the environment
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with organizational and federal requirements
- Must have an active Public Trust security Clearance
- Must be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this posting
- 6 years of experience in IT systems engineering or system administration
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory/Entra ID
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware
- Knowledge of networking concepts including LAN, VPN, and firewalls
- Familiarity with both Linux and Windows server environments
- Experience working with federal compliance frameworks such as NIST and FISMA
- Microsoft Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
