Qualifications
- Appropriate Georgia Teaching Certificate
- Minimum of T-5 or higher certification required; literacy, reading, math, or dyslexia endorsement preferred
- Three years successful teaching experience required; elementary education experience preferred
- Prior instructional leadership experience at the elementary level preferred
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with administration, faculty, and staff
- Tier 1 Leadership preferred but not required.
- The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements
Performance Responsibilities
- Possess expertise in content, pedagogy, and professional learning including a thorough knowledge of state curriculum standards
- Develop, document, and maintain ongoing Student Support Plans
- Develop intervention strategies for implementation specific to the targeted loss of learning
- Develop/schedule intervention sessions for interventionists and students.
- Encourage and model skillful use of data to inform decision making
- Work collaboratively with administration, teachers, interventionists, and Academic Coach to support the successful integration of the MTSS process
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with parents, staff, and other district personnel
- Oversee implementation of interventions and progress monitoring
- Develop and maintain a positive rapport with families and staff
- Provide parent training to help support their child's mastery of the standards.
- Maintain effective and timely written and oral communication with parents, staff and other school personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum
- Demonstrate prompt and in-person regular attendance
