- Certified or eligible for certification from PSC
- Ability to work with administrators, counselors, other teachers, pupils, parents and the general public
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities
The teacher will:
- Follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues.
- Interact in a professional manner with students and parents.
- Facilitate home-school communication by holding conferences, telephoning and sending written communications.
- Maintain confidentiality of students and students' records.
- Work cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
- Comply with school, system, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies.
- Conduct assigned classes at the times scheduled.
- Enforce regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.
- Be punctual and in person attendance.
- Provide adequate information, plans and materials for substitute teacher.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and files reports promptly.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy.
- Comply with conditions as stated in contract.
- Demonstrate professional practices in teaching.
- Model correct use of language, oral and written.
- Demonstrate accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content.
- Implement designated curriculum.
- Maintain lesson plans as required by school policy.
- Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
