Fann Contracting, Inc. — a leading heavy civil construction company based in Prescott, AZ — is seeking an experienced Fueler / Lube Service Technician to join our team!
In this hands-on position, you’ll perform daily fueling, lubrication, oil changes, preventative maintenance, and light mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment and trucks, including motor graders, dozers, excavators, loaders, rollers, and paving equipment.
Our headquarters are in Prescott, Arizona BUT we work STATEWIDE. Fueler/Service technicians typically work 5 shifts per week, home on most weekends. Daily tax-free subsistence (travel pay) is available for most assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Arizona Class A or B CDL with Tank and Hazmat endorsements.
- Must have a clean 5-year Motor Vehicle Record.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, lube tech, or operator.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have your own tools.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to drive a large 6-wheel fuel truck with no transmission restrictions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and service heavy machinery.
- Ability to follow service schedules and manufacturer manuals.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and efficiency.
- Trustworthy, self-motivated, and capable of working independently (often at night or on weekends).
Key Responsibilities:
- Fuel and lubricate all assigned trucks and heavy equipment.
- Check and top off all fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, hydraulic, transmission, etc.).
- Grease pins, joints, and moving components.
- Report mechanical issues, leaks, or worn parts to the on-site mechanic. Keep accurate fuel logs, job numbers, and equipment IDs.
- Perform 250-, 500-, 1000-, and 2000-hour equipment services (oil changes, filter replacements, inspections).
- Complete truck PMs at mileage intervals (2,500–25,000 miles).
- Fill out service and maintenance records completely and accurately.
- Order and organize filters and supplies for upcoming services.
- Operate and maintain a company fuel/lube truck.
- Keep service truck clean, organized, and stocked.
- Clean up any spills and properly dispose of used oil, filters, and waste.
