Cummins Diesel & Ram Heavy Fleet Mechanic (Diagnostic Specialist)

Position Overview

Fann Contracting, Inc. in Prescott, AZ is seeking a highly skilled and diagnostic-minded Cummins Heavy Fleet Mechanic / Diesel Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. This role is specifically tailored for a technician with extensive experience servicing Ram heavy-duty trucks (Ram 1,500–5500) powered by the Cummins turbo-diesel platform. This offering is for a permanent, full-time, in shop mechanic located in Prescott, AZ.

The ideal candidate is a master at servicing and troubleshooting Cummins Diesel Engines to include aftermarket systems, is comfortable using advanced computerized software, and knows the Ram brand bumper-to-bumper programs. Must have attention to detail in their work for the safety, reliability and uptime of a hard working commercial fleet. Top-tier hourly with weekly pay cycles. $32.00 to $35.15 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex electrical, drivability, no-start, and performance issues specifically on Ram/Stellantis platforms and Cummins engines,.
• Software Utilization: Effectively utilize diagnostic software, specifically Bosch emissions and aftermarket treatment.
• Engine & System Repairs: Perform full bumper-to-bumper repairs including fuel injection systems, turbochargers, cooling, and heavy-line mechanical overhauls.
• Emissions Management: Diagnose, service, and repair complex diesel emissions-related components (EGR, DPF, DEF, SCR, and NOx systems).
• Chassis & Drivetrain: Repair and maintain heavy-duty suspensions, steering linkages, hydraulic brake systems, and transmission components.
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous inspection check lists/records of all completed inspections and repairs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years working on light-to-medium duty diesel pickup trucks or heavy fleet vehicles.
• Tools: Must own and maintain a comprehensive set of professional tools, including diagnostic equipment.
• Certifications (Preferred):ASE certifications (specifically ASE A9 Light Vehicle Diesel or T2 Diesel Engines) or official Cummins/Stellantis factory training are highly desirable.
• Tech Savvy: Strong ability to interpret complex technical manuals, wiring schematics, and digital service bulletins.
• Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
