Fancy is looking for an adaptable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing Finance team. Whether you're early in your career or bring senior-level experience, this role will be shaped to match your background and growth trajectory. You'll be instrumental in keeping our books clean, our processes compliant, and our financial insights sharp - while contributing to a collaborative, values-driven startup culture.
You’ll support a mix of day-to-day accounting functions, reconciliations, reporting, and systems work — with an opportunity to scale your scope as you grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage and reconcile the general ledger with a high degree of accuracy
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare journal entries, manage balance sheet schedules, and ensure timely reconciliations
- Oversee accounts payable and vendor management via Bill.com
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoice tracking and collections
- Track and reconcile fixed assets and expenses across systems
- Manage prepaid and amortization
- Manage capitalized software development calculation and amortization
- Assist with treasury management and cash reporting
- Format and analyze raw data into reports for reconciliations, billing and payables
- Review contracts and agreements for financial implications and booking
- Support budget variance analysis, forecasting, and audit preparation
- Help maintain and organize accounting and corporate records
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements in financial workflows
- Work cross departments to ensure seamless coordination
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Fluency in NetSuite and QuickBooks required
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and month-end processes
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; comfort working with raw datasets
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders
- Clear communicator — both written and verbal — with a proactive mindset
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, or early-stage companies is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
