Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong foundation in accounting principles and software to contribute to our organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision, efficiency, and a solid understanding of financial concepts, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance. The purpose of this position is to provide accounting support to the Director of Finance. This will be an in-office role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting Support (95%)
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Provide payroll support as backup using MIP Abila / MIP software
- Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed
- Provide accounting support during budget preparation
- Provide accounting support in annual audit
- Help with financial data entry and general bookkeeping using our Abila MIP software
- Work independently, but alongside and report to the Director of Finance
- Provide stellar customer service to our clients and be informed on all company policy and practices (including data security)
- Adhere to current accounting/finance laws and regulations
Miscellaneous (5%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or Accounting Assistant
- Working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using some financial functions)
- Familiarity with MIP Abila accounting software a plus, but can be learned
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires use of the computer, fax machine, copy machine and the telephone. The incumbent must be able to effectively and efficiently provide support services to staff and both in-person and by telephone on a regular, ongoing basis. Location: Stillwater, MN, in-office
Schedule: This is a part-time role with M-F day-time hours, actual schdule to be decided with Hiring Manager. We are open to various schedule options as long as there is consistency.
Pay: $23.81-$27.25 per hour This will be calcualted based on your years of experience.
