Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Independent Living Program Workers to support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. Perform In-home, one-on-one life skills training to adults with intellectual disabilities.
Duties
- Provide training to individuals with disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living such as grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, cooking, budgeting, and socialization
- Assist individuals with identifying resources and applying for services
- Collaborate with families, service providers, and Regional Center staff
- Maintain a supportive environment to promote independence and well-being
- Provide training based on the Individual Service Plan. Maintain accurate documentation of the service plan goals.
- Submit training case notes and time sheets.
- Attend quarterly meetings, training, and meetings. Attending meetings recommended by the regional center, as it pertains to ILP services.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; College preferred
- 2 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of special education principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
