What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home-Based Therapist position at Family Time, Inc?
What You'll Do:
- Provide family and individual therapy including, but not limited to: Crisis intervention, Adoption issues, Sex abuse, Goal setting, Family structure (external boundaries, relationships, socio-cultural history), Problem-solving, Support systems, Interpersonal relationships, Family processes (adaptation, power authority, communications, META rules), Cognitive behavioral strategies, Family reunification/preservation, Grief and loss, Domestic violence education, and Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) support.
- Provide Therapeutic supervised visitation
- Work with families to develop strengths, improve coping mechanisms, and resolve conflict.
- Collaborate with the Child and Family Team and community resources to ensure clients receive comprehensive support.
- Complete assessments, document progress, and maintain accurate electronic records.
- Attend training and clinical supervision to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field with a current license issued by the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board as one of the following:
○ Social Worker
○ Clinical Social Worker
○ Marriage and Family Therapist
○ Mental Health Counselor
○ Marriage and Family Therapist Associate
○ Mental Health Counselor Associate.
● Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field with a temporary permit issued by the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board as one of the following:
○ Social Worker
○ Clinical Social Worker
○ Marriage and Family Therapist
○ Mental Health Counselor
Key Competencies:
- Knowledge of family of origin/intergenerational issues
- Knowledge of child abuse/neglect
- Knowledge of child and adult development
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to work as a team member
- Belief in helping clients change, to increase the level of functioning, and knowledge of
- strength-based initiatives to bring about change
- Belief in the family preservation philosophy
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing
- Skillful in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Skillful in the use of evidence-based strategies
- Understanding and appropriately responding to the unique combination of cultural variables (including ability, age, beliefs, ethnicity, experience, gender, gender identity, linguistic background, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status) that the professional and client bring to interactions
