What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coordinator position at Family Ties, Inc.?
The Medical Coordinator provides high-caliber administrative support to – and acts as a liaison between – patients, nurses, doctors, Family Ties staff and the agency’s partners. The Medical Coordinator position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work well with others and a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Approves and inputs new referrals
- Contacts patients and schedules appointments
- Fields prescription calls from pharmacies and ensures accurate record keeping by uploading reports/medical consent forms
- Tracks key psychological and psychiatric service metrics, and reports weekly findings
- Schedules clients for psychological and psychiatric services, after verifying active insurance
- Provides updates to case workers and school officials on referrals’ attendance
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Master's degree required (license eligible master's preferred- LAPC, LMSW, etc.)
- Familiarity with medical office operations, mental health services, social work, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Detail oriented, highly reliable and accountable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Adept at using multiple software programs, especially MS Excel
- Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse culture
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
