Responsibilities include managing training records and the learning management system, preparing materials and reports, obtaining and maintaining instructor certifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory training requirements.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conducts educational classes including but not limited to SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid, Partnering for Safety/TRUST, management training, and any other course work deemed necessary.
- Completes administrative tasks including, but not limited to, data entry, scanning, copying, and emailing training records.
- Prepares needed paperwork and documentation for the following week of new hire orientation.
- Assists with scheduling, promotion, room reservation, room set up, technology needs, refreshments, and teaching or facilitation of events.
- Assists in coordinating and providing coverage for weekly new hire orientation and conducts trainings as needed.
- Completes necessary reports as requested by the Director and submits them within required timeframes.
- Assists with the oversight of the online learning management system including but not limited to maintaining employee training records and creating and generating educational compliance reports to the agency.
- Attains and maintains certified instructor status for SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid, MH Safety Training, and any other applicable training.
- Assists with the development and implementation of new course curricula for both instructor-led and online training as deemed appropriate.
- Provides expertise and support to the organization with educational regulations set forth by governing bodies including analysis of and assistance with the interpretation and integration of applicable regulations.
- Ensures that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed/processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Complies fully with FREE’s confidentiality policies by holding in strictest confidence all information pertaining to members, residents, the people we support and their families, clients, providers, contractors, and employees.
- Meets all safety training requirements; adheres to all safety policies and reports any and all unsafe conditions; takes measures to prevent accidents and/or eliminate conditions that pose a safety or health risk.
- Coordinates, supports, attends and participates in all required events/ meetings/ reviews/ committees, including ones outside of standard working hours.
- Meets all job requirements and stays in compliance.
- Adheres to FREE’s standard of ethical behavior as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct as well as applicable laws and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in health and human services, education, or another related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing educational instruction and/or public speaking required
- Minimum of one (1) year of administrative or office support experience required
- Experience in the human services field preferred
- Experience conducting and facilitating training is preferred
- Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications:
- Not required, training will be provided upon hire as needed
- Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
- Computer literacy, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel required
- Knowledge of OPWDD, OMH, DOH and OASAS regulations preferred
- Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential
- Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for FREE
- Willingness to become SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid, and Partnering for Safety/TRUST certified, and certified to become an instructor

- Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

- Employee is required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or stand on a stool as needed.
- Employee is required to be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
