What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Based Counselor position at Family Preservation Community Services?
Family Preservation Community Services (FPCS) was founded in 1997. FPCS provides a variety of social services and therapies to children, adults, and families. We are located in North Carolina and South Carolina and have a long history of providing quality foster care and therapy in our market.
The school based counselor works in the school setting with students who are in need of mental and behavioral health services. This important position helps to work with students who are anxious, having behavioral issues or presents with other mental health issues. The liaison works in the school with its teachers, school guidance counselors and principal to ensure that children receive counseling and support as necessary. The liaison will work through the medicaid program and must document appropriately to meet regulations. and administration.
Responsibilities include:
Providing psychotherapy services.
Creating in conjunction with the client and/or family, a treatment plan that is reviewed and changed as necessary but no less than every 90 days.
Maintiaining documentation of progress or lack thereof on all goals in accordance with state, federal and accrediting body guidelines.
Reporting to the school 7:30 am-3:30 pm Monday-Friday. This is an in person position.
Requirements include:
Must have a masters degree in human services and a minimum of two years of experience in the social services field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,600.00 - $42,000.00 per year
