Duties:
- Perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Conduct dental examinations and diagnose oral health conditions
- Develop treatment plans and discuss them with patients
- Administer local anesthesia and monitor patient vital signs during procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists to ensure efficient patient care
- Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean dental office environment
Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Valid state dental license in good standing
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding related to dental procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as Epic, for medical documentation purposes
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff members
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate dental care
- Commitment to maintaining infection control standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines
