Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kingston, NY, for an Accounting and Bookkeeper Specialist. The role involves managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate bookkeeping practices. Key responsibilities include recording and reconciling financial transactions, managing accounting software, handling journal entries, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies. The specialist will also support financial reporting and assist with budgeting and financial planning for various programs within the agency.
Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining program financial ledgers.
· Prepare Invoices/Vouchers for billing funding sources.
· Reconciliation of motel billings to tracking system and payments to ensure accuracy before billing funding agency.
· Monthly distribution of ledgers to Team Leads and Management for review with narratives of performance.
· Quarterly review with Team Leads and CFO
· Maintain files for all assigned programs.
· Responsible for reconciling special savings accounts pertaining to the assigned ledgers.
· Various errands are shared between staff including going to the post office, banking and other miscellaneous errands.
· Backup support of AP and AR as needed.
· Collaborate with the accounting/finance staff in planning activities within the department as well as with program staff and external organizations as requested by CFO or Team Leader of Accounting/Finance.
· Additional primary and/or non-essential responsibilities may be added at the discretion of the Team Leader.

- Must be dependable and well organized, energetic, and have the ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
· AAS Preferred or at least 3 years’ experience in accounting/financial work.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work under pressure, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
· Experience with Google products.
Salary, Hours and Location:
The is a full-time, 40-hour per week position located at our Kingston, NY office. This is not a remote position. The pay rate is $20.11 per hour. Benefits include:
