Pediatric Speech Therapist (Clinical Fellows welcome to apply)

*Clinical Fellows should already have their NYSED TSSLD or TSHH certification*

Details about this opportunity: 

Location: Islandia, NY and surrounding school districts (3 days at the Islandia Center, 2 days in district)

Status: Full-Time

Hours: Monday-Friday, typically between 8a-4p (3 days in Islandia 2 days in local districts following their calendar)

Compensation:

• Clinical Fellow: $58,000-$62,500
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist: $65,000

In addition the position posted may be either full-time or fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the current caseload which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement can vary and is subject to change.**

Responsibilities: 

• Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for your caseload.
• Administer and create speech and language evaluations.
• Ongoing communication and collaboration with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Special Educators specifically related to overall language and functional communication.
• Oversight of student’s Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
• Utilize students’ behavior management strategies and behavior intervention plans during sessions.
• Maintain professionalism with families, school districts, and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.
• Create and maintain schedule.
• Collect data on each IEP goal and reports on progress quarterly.
• Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.

  And this background: 

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
• NYSED Certifications: TSSLD or TSHH
• Clinical Fellows must have a NYSED TSSLD ror TSHH certification
• Experience working with students with autism preferred.
• Experience programming Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Devices
• Bilingual is a plus.
