Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Supervisor and/or Training Officer to join our emergency medical services team. Starting pay will vary based on certification level, Training, and years of experiance. Responsibilities
- Provide advanced emergency medical care and transportation for patients experiencing acute health issues.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Manage airway procedures, administer injections, medications, and IV therapy following established protocols.
- Utilize critical care skills such as airway management, trauma assessment, triage, and critical care transport.
- Operate medical equipment and DME with aseptic technique to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patient condition continuously during transport and communicate effectively with hospital staff upon arrival.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatments administered, and transport details.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols in emergency medicine settings including Level I Trauma Centers and Level II Trauma Centers.
- Drive emergency vehicles safely while complying with traffic laws and company policies during urgent transports.
- Assist in training new team members on medical procedures and protocols as needed.
- Schedule, train, and manage Paramedics and EMTs, ensuring adherence to protocols and high standards of care.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare incident reports, conduct performance evaluations, and implement emergency response plans.
- Ensure all medical equipment and vehicles are properly maintained, stocked, and ready for use.
- Ensure operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and maintain safety standards for personnel and patients.
TRAINING OFFICER
- Identify skills gaps and training requirements through surveys, interviews, performance appraisals, and collaboration with department heads and managers.
- Design and develop training programs, including workshops, e-learning modules, and instructional materials tailored to organizational needs.
- Facilitate training sessions for employees at all levels using various methods such as on-the-job coaching, mentorship, classroom instruction, and virtual learning.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs by tracking employee performance, collecting feedback, and adjusting content as necessary.
- Manage training budgets, materials, and external training providers to ensure efficient program delivery.
- Maintain accurate training records and report on employee progress and program outcomes.
- Act as a mentor and provide guidance to staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Valid EMT/Paramedic certification with current licensure; advanced certifications such as Critical Care Paramedic or Advanced EMT preferred.
- Proven experience in hospital settings, emergency rooms, or urgent care environments; trauma center experience highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology relevant to emergency medicine.
- Proficiency in airway management, medication administration, venipuncture, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessment techniques.
- Experience with critical care transport operations including ventilator management and complex patient handling.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical exertion required for patient transfer and equipment handling.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating emergency vehicles preferred.

Training Officer:
- Education: Associate or technical degree preferred in emergency medical services or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications: Must hold EMT or Paramedic certification; additional certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, instructor and local credentialing may be required. 40 hour EMS Methodology course or equivalent. Continued Education Program instructor preferred.
- Experience: Requires at a minimum 5 years of experience as a paramedic or EMT, with experience in training, mentoring, or precepting.
- Skills: Strong written and oral communication, organizational skills, ability to teach adult learners, and proficiency with training software and record-keeping.
