Monitoring Officer – NJEIS

One-Year Contract Position through 22nd Century Technologies

Pay: $50,000–$55,000 per year

Work arrangement: The employee will be based in Trenton and work at the NJ Department of Health. The position may be eligible for up to two telework days per week with management approval.

Position summary

NJEIS is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Monitoring Specialist to support oversight of New Jersey’s statewide early intervention program for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities and their families. The position will work under the supervision of the NJEIS Monitoring Coordinator and will receive training in monitoring, quality assurance, data review, and technical assistance under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

This individual will work day to day with NJEIS at the New Jersey Department of Health in Trenton; however, the successful candidate will be hired by 22nd Century Technologies as a contractual employee for a one-year assignment with possible extension.

Key responsibilities

· Learn and apply federal and State requirements, NJEIS policies, and monitoring procedures related to IDEA Part C.

· Support monitoring of early intervention agencies through desk reviews, record reviews, data analysis, interviews, and follow-up activities.

· Review program and performance data to identify compliance concerns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

· Assist with audits and evaluations and document findings clearly and accurately.

· Track corrective actions, improvement activities, timelines, and evidence of resolution.

· Prepare monitoring summaries, correspondence, reports, and data-informed recommendations.

· Provide or coordinate training and technical assistance to agencies and practitioners.

· Collaborate with NJEIS staff, provider agencies, service coordination units, regional partners, families, and other stakeholders.

· Maintain organized electronic records and participate in field visits, meetings, and special projects as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

· A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Preferred skills

· Experience or coursework in public health, social work, social science, education, special education, quality assurance, compliance, or program evaluation.

· Strong organization, writing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to review data and records, manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and electronic information systems.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
