We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support the procurement and implementation of a statewide enterprise data system modernization initiative.
This role will manage the day-to-day execution of an existing Request for Proposal (RFP) through vendor selection, contract award, implementation, system deployment, and post-production support while working under the direction of the State Project Manager.
The ideal candidate is an experienced project manager who understands public-sector procurement, enterprise software implementations, and vendor management. The successful candidate will focus on project execution, procurement coordination, implementation oversight, and vendor management.
This position requires working onsite with State staff throughout the project.
What You’ll Do
· Coordinate the execution of an existing State RFP through vendor selection and contract award.
· Work closely with State Treasury, procurement officials, legal counsel, and evaluation committee members throughout the procurement process.
· Coordinate vendor communications, proposal evaluations, demonstrations, and procurement documentation.
· Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, implementation plans, risk registers, issue logs, and status reports.
· Coordinate day-to-day implementation activities under the direction of the State Project Manager.
· Work directly with the selected software vendor to monitor project progress, contractual deliverables, project milestones, and implementation schedules.
· Coordinate project meetings with business users, technical teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
· Support requirements clarification, design reviews, testing activities, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment planning, training coordination, and production readiness.
· Identify project risks, issues, and schedule impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.
· Prepare executive-level project status reports and implementation updates.
· Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
· Minimum of 7 years of experience managing enterprise IT implementation projects.
· Experience coordinating government or public-sector procurement activities, including RFP execution and vendor evaluations.
· Experience managing software vendors through implementation and production deployment.
· Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
· Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate complex projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
· Experience with New Jersey State procurement processes and the Department of the Treasury.
· Experience working within a government or highly regulated environment.
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
