What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Family Health Care?
Family Health Care is currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to float between our main locations of Cadillac, Baldwin, Big Rapids, White Cloud and Grant.
This is a position in which any range of experience is desirable. Work is performed under the direct supervision of licensed registered pharmacist(s) in storing, preparing, dispensing, reconciling, and charging of all medications to patients serviced by the pharmacy and in compliance with and adhering to all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice, and State Board of Pharmacy practices. Performs all responsibilities according to best practices in the field and reflecting the mission and vision of Baldwin Family Health Care.
Primary Responsibility:
- Fills and dispenses medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Verifies, obtains, and maintains accurate patient demographic, allergy, insurance, and other required information. Enters data into computer as required
- Assists the pharmacist in maintaining an adequate drug inventory and quality control procedures
- Prepares pharmacy work areas for daily activities/ operations/ usages to meet patient and pharmacist needs
- Performs various administrative functions as required
- Understands and demonstrates proficiency in 340B rules and regulations
